Description: This three-day course provides an introduction to the basic elements of the BRL-CAD package. On the first day, students learn to create and combine basic solid shapes, modify viewing parameters, and edit solid parameters through the modeling interface, MGED. The second day of study allows the student to apply the techniques learned in a free-style modelling session and concludes with an introduction to programs for evaluating the model geometry. For the third day, the free-style session continues to develop working experience with the basic interrogation tools and concludes with an overview of some of the advanced tools not presented during the course.
Prerequisites: None.
Duration: 3 days
